last night i was lazy. the night before, i did about a thousand words or so, better than nothing, have to focus on the postive to keep the spirits up. but last night, i finished earthblood, by james kisner. overall prety good writing, however, parts of the book were switched. very annoying to read about the girl being raped, then goes to work, then it's the daybefore, pages later she's found in the bathroom, then etc. the characters were great, but overall, the switchroo on the writing was annoying, too bad. i also read what kills by me, by channing. a ya vampire novel. pretty good, better than i thought it would be for an ebook, of publishing qaulity. worth reading. tonight i'm going to try and crack down.

finally tore myself away form time wasting farmville 2 (curse you facebooka nd all your tempting games) and wrote about 1149 or so words. okay, not great, but it's getting late for me, and i think it's a great scene, so all in all, much happier than if i had done nothing. now off to harelquin to see thier writing guidelines, and then maybe a few other places.
So I wrote almost nothing lately. So much for good intentions, yeah I know. I did write about another two thousand or so, on um, tue night? Because wed was that time of the month, and I felt sick and decided not to write. What a lazy excuse. Still, though, thur I was feeling sick. Barfy. So I guess it's okay, except that doesn't leave me with an excuse for the next couple of nights. And, that puts me at two thou a week. Sucky. Seriously. Real writers, virtually everyone who is published, writes like eight hours or more a day. And when not writing during those eight hours, they are editing, calling, working. Almost forty hours. I bet if you polled all the writers who have been published, in a -genre, recently, nyc bestseller list, whatever- I bet they spend hours a week. Hours. Not one or two, but hours. I noticed I stopped on the story I was editing. Was doing it on the weekend, (my weekend, thur and fri, not the real weekend, I work) and that I stopped on a dialogue moment. Clearly it scares me enough to stop writing, and it should, talking is an important way to show character, reveal personality, etc. so I watched some hulu, because I want too, telling myself it was research, and lo and behold. Everyone talked normally. Just talk about feelings, situations, etc. An here I’m rereading koontz. Do I need any better example of dialogue? Richard laymon was all short and sweet, but with lots of sex in his books. I have recently discovered an author called david wiltse. Thank you better world books for your awesome bargain bin sale. When my bank account has died of starvation you will be to blame, and when I die from a book case collapse and the mouse cage is buried under paperbacks, you are to blame. Kidding! It's really a willpower issue. As in I have none where books are concerned. Free shipping! Go now to their site and buy buy buy!

i wrote about two thousand words last nightm, not to bad, not great. did nothing easter, went gambling with my guy, slacked off at work. what the heck, it was a holiday. back to writing. up to the two main characters talking, scary! what are they going to say to each other? major snag, how to make them sound interesting and etc, that they need to be. hmm. can't fix it though until it's written, even bad writing is better than nothing.

i logged off the internet, then forced myself to log back on. i was exhausted from too many hours of facebook's farmville 2. loser! this is why you don't have enough books written! loser. anyway, i wrote about 2,400 or so on wed night. so there's that, then didn't get off my lazy butt to blog until today. hmm. and spent the weekend playing slots, via facebook. hello, time waster. just started a clive barker novel, pretty good. finished the dean koontz, going to start another of his classics. think, maybe, i can see the difference in the writing, how i have more details, not as afraid to talk about the characters. nowhere near his level of writing, mnay never get there, but any improvment is good. I must write some tonight, at work. here's hoping.

this morning i was at 6646 for a word count. downloaded it from the alphasmart. still not sure how to end it, and decided to put in an earlier scene, but all good. keep telling myself, you have to write it to add to it. you have to write it to edit it. no excuses. i'm lying, i'm full of excuses.

was too lazy to write last night. shame on me. read some bentley little, normally i love his books. the store was my favorite. this time, i had a hard time getting into it. kept hopping through differnt characters, like every chapter. at least i'm doing better with posting. yeah, boring dry stuff. now it's a problem with qaunity over qaulity.
